Diary

Practicing the piano (Mendelssohn’s Rondo Capriccioso, almost memorized) and wishing people could play and sing together again in one room.

I have completed all my pending commissions and am thinking what next. I could resume working on an unfinished symphony, “Sierra Symphony”, or write a set of piano solos.

I’ve had different creative stages. Right out of school — complex and almost unplayable music. Now my music is getting more personal, more practical and accessible. Writing for choir (SF Choral Artists composer-in-residence) has helped me with this, as well as playing in Duo Lynx.

Pending events: Bell and Drum Tower to be recorded by Parma Recordings in Ostrava, Czech on Sept. 11, 2020.

Marimba Concerto with Dame Evelyn Glennie and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong to be released on Naxos in January, 2021.
